New Years Resolutions and what-not

I wonder why we set those silly resolutions every year.  Usually we just set ourselves up for failure, because we set unrealistic expectations of ourselves, then we beat ourselves up the first time we don’t keep our resolution, then we stop them all together and fall back into old habits.  Old habits are easy to change but they take time and patience to change.   Some are very easy to change when we are ready, we make up our minds and make the changes that instance and never look back, others become life long struggles. So, what should you do instead?

This is week is the perfect time to reflect on all you have accomplished in the past year. Look at the baby steps and milestones! There is no reason to beat yourself up about what you didn’t accomplish, look at what all you did and relish in those accomplishments. As Esther Hicks, who channels Abraham says, “you can never get it wrong and you never get it done” We are creators and it is only us who can create the life we want. We are sometimes so hard on ourselves that we forget to take a step back and see how many changes we had made and where we have been. This has been an incredible year for many I have talked with, lots of ups and downs and redirections. Take pride in all you have done, even if at the time it looked like a detour. We are always a work in progress. Transformation is a process it is not the end result.

This also goes along the with the notion we have about foods being bad!  We consider our desire for these foods as bad and then that makes us bad in our own mind.  Are you ready to let go of this belief?  What you say to yourself matters. How you treat yourself matters. How you interpret what happens–whether you blame or judge or shame yourself–creates your state of mind now. It also keeps pulling those same thoughts, circumstances and situations to you like magnet.  We know about the law of attraction, like attracts like, so look at how your thoughts are acting like magnets for your brain, creating more of the same thoughts.
